So my beloved pregnant friend, M, tells me that pregnant mothers' stomachs SHRINK - contract? - as a result of babies growing in their bellies.
It means that, while there is typically an understandable evolutionary compulsion to EAT, friggin EAT, GOD, gobble, gobble, MEANWHILE the female body still hasn't adapted to such behaviours.
In other words: baby gets squished between a pile of delicious lasagne chocolate bars, gerkins win honey, and a bowl of ice cream - and a bag of mummy's chocolate log rolls. And I Don't mean chocolate. Like Garfield the Cat jammed up against the window of a car, no?
Not nice. To be stuck in a semi-plastic bag, between the glories of modern food junky happiness, and a fat shit, baby loses out?
No wonder babies kick and cause a fuss being stuck in there. Hello!
